A message from Sam Sanders (GS '71),

June 27, 2010

Hello Alumni friends and guests!

I, like many alumni, will always say that the Governor's School experience was a major event.  It was a turning point for me.  Since the GS summer of 1971,  I have experienced many wonderful things, and they all have challenged the way I live and think these days.  We can all say, hopefully, that somewhere along the road, we have become wiser.  We have somehow come to see how Governor's School eventually played a roll in our lives.

There is something exciting about revisiting the places, faces, and memories that became building blocks of our character.   I am hoping that this website will be one of those places you will come to visit over and over.  It is a wonder how a person can make such a reflection to the past and then learn something new from it many years later.  Look at this site as a visual reminder of the things we have learned and experienced and then allow yourself to go through the exercise of evaluating what has become true and meaningful for you today.  Don't allow too much time to pass before making any corrections in direction, if it threatens what you know to be right and good.  Then someday you can look back and say, that those experiences, how small or large they may be, taught me at least something good in life.   Enjoy the adventure.

We want to hear from any of the alumni.   Send us email or make a comment in our Guestbook.

You may contact me at  Webmaster@ncgsalumni.org or at samscalc@msn.com

Sincerely,

Sam Sanders
